IMPORT: The Future of International Trade

Updated: Feb 17, 2020

Changing the Future of International Trade:

U.S. Customs has established 10 Centers of Excellence and Expertise (CEE) as part of their goal to “transform the way Customs approaches trade operations and works with the international trade community.” Customs has stated that the CEEs will allow them to increase uniformity of practices in the various ports and to focus on industry-specific issues.

For importers it is critical that they are ready for Customs’ new focus as it is a two-fold mission: to facilitate legitimate trade while better enforcing Customs’ rules and regulations. Importers need to take steps today to get ready for this “new world” of international trade.
